Two teenagers, Imole Olarewaju and Segun Malic, who allegedly stabbed a friend to death at a party in Lagos, were on Monday remanded on the order of a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court.

The duo of Olarewaju, 15, and Malic, 18, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and murder.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Ipaye‎ Nwachukwu, ordered that the accused should be remanded at an Abeokuta Correctional Home for Boys pending advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Sgt. Anthonia Osanyade told the court that the accused with others still at large committed the offences ‎at Kehinde Street, Ajegunle, Lagos, at about 8:00 p.m. on Aug. 3.

The accused and others at large were attending a party of fellow secret cult members at the above address and the party later degenerated into a free-for-all, she said.

“The accused and others used a kitchen knife to stab Endurance Augustin, 18, leaving him to bleed to death.’’

The offences contravened Sections ‎221 and 231 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.

The magistrate has adjourned the case to Nov. 22 for mention.
