He emphasised that any receipt that was not denoted with a postage stamp remains illegal, saying “ we would soon commence enforcement of this law”.

The NIPOST manager said stamp duty was another way of generating revenue for Federal Government,”adding that “we shall explore every avenue to ensure compliance with the policy”.

In her remarks, the Senior Manager, Operations, Mrs Ruth Kaka, advised parents and guardians to inculcate in their wards the habit of writing letters.
According to her, wrong spelling of words is gradually creeping into formal writing owing to the advent of the internet where language of chatting is done informally.

She cited “ Tnx” for “Thanks” and Gud for “Good” and “Lol” for“ laugh”, saying such use of expressions is killing creativity in literature and proper use of English being the official language of instruction in schools.

Part of the highlights of the event was the presentation of certificates of commendation to 10 NIPOST consistent and loyal customers
