The Katsina State Government has upgraded its sports facilities to facilitate the smooth conduct of the Nigerian Air Force Games in Katsina metropolis.

Gov. Aminu Masari made the assertion on Monday while inspecting the rehabilitated sports facilities in Katsina.

“All our sports equipment and facilities have been given a facelift so that the Air Force sportsmen and women will make good use of them during their competition.

“The state government has rehabilitated the old township stadium where tracks and field events will take place.

“We have also renovated the Tennis, Handball and Basketball courts near Katsina Club in the Government Reservation Area (GRA) of the metropolis.

“The government is currently rehabilitating the Katsina Golf Club.

“In fact, the Katsina State Government is 100 per cent ready for the Air Force Games as all the sports facilities have been given facelift,’’ the governor said.

Masari said that after the Games, the state athletes would continue to make use of the facilities for their usual training.

He commended the Nigeria Air Force for choosing Katsina to host the Games, adding that the measure would also have economic benefit for the people.
