50 years in Nigeria, encounter with Chief Joop Berkhout. Interview by Bode Modupe, hosted by CIAPS, Lagos On Saturday 29 October the Centre for International Advanced and Professional Studies in Lagos organised a morning of tributes for Chief Joop Berkhout to mark his 50th year of publishing in Nigeria.
In the course of those years, Chief Berhout, who is a naturalised Nigerian, an Okunborode of Ile-Ife and a national award holder, has been in charge of Evans, Spectrum and now Safari Books.
Those who attended the event included Chief Emeka Anyaoku, Mrs Bianca Ojukwu, Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye, Chief Dayo Ogunniyi, Mr Ofodile, Pastor Tunde Bakare, Mr Goyega Banjo, Mr Kunle Ajibade, Chief Nat Okoro and Professor Hauwa Imam.
