Driver jailed for knocking down FRSC Marshal

The Adamawa Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed that a KeKe NAPEP driver was sentenced to five months imprisonment for knocking down a Corp Marshal on duty.

Mr Adegoke Adetunji, the state sector commander made this known in Yola on Wednesday.

Adetunji said that the convict, Isma’il Ibrahim of Yola South local government area, was sentenced by a Jimeta Magistrate Court on Tuesday with an option of N50,000 fine.

“The incident occurred on Nov. 17, along Yola–Fufore route.” Adetunji said.

According to Adetunji, the convict was trying to avoid being arrested thereby driving recklessly, as a result knocked down the Marshal who was on duty.

He explained that the marshal was rushed to Yola Hospital and he is responding to treatment.

The Court has also directed the convict to settle all medical bills of the marshal.
