The Dawakin Tofa community in Kano State have commended the state chapter of Resident Doctors Association for providing free healthcare services.

Some of the beneficiaries of the medical outreach commended the association for bringing healthcare to their door step.

A beneficiary, Malam Yawale Ashiru, said he received free drugs from the team.

Malam Habibu Hassan in company of his aged mother who benefitted from ophthalmological service and received free drugs also lauded the association.

A pregnant mother, Malama Bilkisu Ado, testified that she benefited from the service where she received free ante natal care and drugs.

The state Chairman of the association, Dr Ishaq Ahmed, said they were delighted to offer the services.

He explained that the association conducted the exercise to mark the Annual Health Week where a local government in the state was chosen for the exercise.

“ This year, Dawakin Tofa council emerged to be the beneficiary and next year we will move to another council until all the local governments benefit from the scheme,” he said.

The chairman revealed that many non-governmental bodies were in attendance to support the week thus commending their supports.

Ahmed said that despite non-receipt of two months salaries, the association yet provided the free healthcare to the people.

He assured the public that the association would serve the people under every circumstance and only embarked on strike when pushed to the wall.

The state chapter of the association had provided free consultation and medical services to more than 500 beneficiaries in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area during this year’s celebration.
