A 22-year-old man, Chioke Thomas, who allegedly stole two cartons of crayfish worth N160,000 was on Tuesday brought before an Ebute-Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
The accused is facing a charge of stealing.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Maria Dauda told the court that the accused committed the offence on Jan. 3, at Oyingbo Ultra-Modern Market in Ebute-Meta.
Dauda said that the accused stole two cartons of crayfish valued at N160,000 belonging to one Bright Chimezie.
The offence contravened Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Thomas pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The magistrate, Mrs O.O.A. Fowowe-Erusiafe, granted the accused N50,000 bail, with two sureties in like sum
The case was adjourned to Feb. 14 for mention.
