The Hadejia Local Education Authority on Tuesday said it had distributed uniforms to 860 pupils of Shardaku Nomadic School in the area.

The Education Secretary, Malam Musa Garba, told newsmen in Hadejia that the uniforms were supplied by the state’s Board for Nomadic Education.

Garba said that uniforms and instructional materials would also be distributed to other nomadic schools in the area.

“This gesture is to enhance enrollment and retention in the schools in rural communities,’’ he said.

Garba disclosed that the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) had constructed classrooms, provided furniture and instructional materials to primary and junior secondary schools in the area.

“They have promoted teachers and conducted capacity building for them to expose them to best teaching practices.

“This will definitely go a long way in reinvigorating the education sector in the state,’’ he said.

The education scribe urged teachers to complement the gesture by dedicating themselves to duty and to achieving academic excellence.
