YouTube has expressed its readiness to assist persons with interest in tailoring to become famous.

Mr Taiwo Kola-Ogunlade, Google’s Communications and Public Affairs Manager, Anglophone West Africa made this known on Tuesday in a statement in Lagos.

Kola-Ogunlade said that at the start of the year, people need to equip themselves with the right skills to thrive even in a recession.

According to him, YouTube has free online videos that will teach one to sew, image how you will one day become the next Mai Atafo.

“If you always wanted to use fashion as an outlet for expressing yourself by becoming a bespoke tailor, then your wish is an internet click away.

“There is so much on the internet to assist you in your journey to fame as a tailor.

“With several helpful resources, especially videos to help you learn to sew from start to finish, you will be amazed at how much you can learn in six months.

“Think about it, why would you want your desire to learn to sew turn into a shoulda-coulda-woulda been done project.

“In spite of the high cost of going to a fashion school, or perhaps having the opportunity to go for classes, then this should be good news.

“Get yourself an internet connection on your computer or phone, and you are ready for sewing classes,’’ he said.

The Google manager urged interested fashionista to go online for amazing beginner sewing apps and step-by-step video directions that would teach one the basic sewing skills.

He added that not only would it teach basic skills, but help with the right tools needed, and even an understanding of stitches.

He said that even if one was not a beginner, the internet was available to enhance their skills.

Kola-Ogunlade stated that there were free tutorial video channels that would get one started, while urging persons interested to search for the videos.
