A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Mr. Victor Akande, on Tuesday said the party would soon resolve its leadership crisis.

Akande, a lawmaker representing Ojo Constituency I at the Lagos State House of Assembly, in Lagos said that the party would overcome its leadership crisis.

According to him, there is no political party or any association of people without leadership challenges, especially in Nigeria.

“We are not experiencing strange thing in our party, every political party including the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has factions and crisis.

“What is happening in our party is a visitor and it will go. The crisis will be over,” Akande said.

The lawmaker said that the crisis in PDP lingered long because the party had not experienced defeat as it did in the 2015 general elections since it came to power.

On the rumoured defection of six out of the eight PDP lawmakers at the Assembly, Akande said that nothing would lure him out of the party.

He said; “I don’t know anything about defection. However, let’s me say all I know is that Victor Akande is still a member of PDP until I say otherwise. I have faith in my cause. I am still in PDP.

“I believe in the cause of the party, it can get better, we can bring about the change in our party. What do we know will happen in the party people are rushing to.’’
