The Kwara Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said it had recovered a 100 KVA electricity transformer, allegedly stolen by hoodlums.
The State Commandant of the Corps, Pedro Ideba, said the transformer, which belonged to former MTEL /NATCOM, was discovered on Thursday along Ajase to Ipo Road and had been taken to the command’s headquarters for safe-keeping.
Ideba also said that on the same day, some containerized power generating sets were discovered in a location opposite the command headquarters.
He said the generating sets might have been kept at the location by some miscreants with the intention of taking them away at a later time.
The commandant reiterated efforts of the corps at ensuring the safety of all critical assets of Federal, state and local government.
He urged members of the public to volunteer useful information to help the corps to serve the people better.
