Gov Ahmed tasks banks on corporate social responsibility
Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara has tasked Banks in the nation to reinforce their corporate social obligation regarding the development and advancement of the nation.
Ahmed, in an announcement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Abdulwahab Oba, on Sunday said this while accepting Mr Yemi Adeola, the Chief Executive Officer of Sterling Bank Plc in Ilorin.
The senator said that the bank’s corporate social obligation activity was exceptionally fundamental in supporting the administration and the general public as a rule.
He said that environmental issues are also important for the development and attributed poor public health system to low productivity in Nigeria.

Ahmed, while commending the bank for getting tied up with the state’s Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), said that such support would offer stimulus to government to help out the general population of the state.
He likewise solicited for the support of the development partners in giving basic framework over the state.
Prior, Adeola told the senator that the bank would give one thousand sweepers’ outfits to bolster the express government’s spotless and green program.
He distinguished Kwara as one of the cleanest states in Nigeria, saying“a healthy environment breeds healthy economy’’
