Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue has commended the Nigerian Military for effectively tackling insurgency in the North-East.

Ortom made the commendation in Makurdi on Tuesday when the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal, Sadique Abubakar, visited him.

He said that posterity would not forget the fallen heroes who paid the supreme price for the country.

Ortom commended President Muhammadu Buhari for giving top priority to security in his administration.

He urged all security agencies in the country to work together for the overall benefit of the society.

The governor urged the people of the state to aid the military by providing intelligence reports to the security agencies that can assist them to fight crime.

He promised to provide logistics support to the security agencies to enable them to succeed.

The chief of air staff said that the Federal Government had acquired enough fighter jets to enable them to tackle security challenges with ease.

He said that some of the jets would be sent to Benue because of the persistent crises in the state.

Abubakar said that the Air War College in Makurdi that was on a temporary basis was going to remain in the state permanently.

He appealed to the governor to help the service to acquire land titles on all its lands in the state.

The Air Force chief reminded the governor that since the establishment of the institution in the state it had not gotten title documents on its lands.
