United determined to hijack Barcelona’s £30m move for Brazilian prodigy

According to the Daily Star, Manchester United are in danger of losing one of their transfer targets Vinicius Junior, as the highly-demanded youngster wants to join Barcelona.

This was reported by the Don Balon who suggest the Flamengo striker fancies a move to Catalonia. The same source have claimed that Man United and their Premier League rivals Chelsea, are also taking an interest.

The 16-year-old Vinicius dazzled in the South American Under-17 championship that took place in March. Brazil stormed to glory after battering Chile in the final 5 – 0.

Flamengo president Kleber Leite, has revealed that the Old Trafford club have already been in contact regarding a potential deal.

During his interview with the Independent, the general director of Flamengo Fred Luz said: “[the president] told me that he was contacted a while ago by a representative of Manchester United, who wanted to discuss the possibility of them having priority for a transfer.”

It is believed that Barca is now Junior’s preferred destination – although the £30m-rated youngster does have some reservations about the La Liga giants. As per the Don Balon, the young forward is wary of the controversy surrounding Neymar’s move from Santos.
