The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy weather conditions over the central states of the country on Tuesday.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office (CFO), on Monday also predicted prospects of localised thunderstorms over Kaduna, Jos, Lokoja, Lafia, Makurdi, Abuja and Jalingo axis during the evening and night hours.

It added that the region would have day and night temperature of 22 to 39 and 17 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

The agency predicted that southern states would experience cloudiness with prospect of isolated thunderstorms over the coastal and inland cities of Lagos,Ijebu-Ode and warri, Akure, Ado-Ekiti, Benin, Ibadan and Oshogbo.

It also predicted chances of thundery activities over Port Harcourt, Calabar, Yenagoa, Enugu, Owerri, Awka, Abakaliki and Obudu during the evening hours with day and night temperatures of 28 to 38 and 20 to 27 degrees Celaius respectively.

According to NiMet, northern states will experience cloudy to partly cloudy situation with chances of localized thundery activities over cities around the North West in the next 24 hours.

“The region will also have day and night temperatures of 40 to 43 and 26 to 30 degrees Celsius respectively.

“Sufficient influx of moisture is expected to result in increased cloudiness and induce rainfall activities in some selected cities around the country,” NiMet predicted.
