Niger Speaker tasks youths on patriotism

The Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ahmed Marafa, has called on youths in the country to imbibe the spirit of patriotism.

Marafa made the call at the send off organised for members of 2016/2017 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Batch A stream 2 posted to the assembly.

“I want to use this opportunity to call on you and other youths in the country to be of good conduct and moral standing, and be patriotic citizens in all your endeavours.

“As potential leaders of tomorrow, these attributes will go a long way in defining who you are,” he said.

Marafa told the youths that they were vanguards of change who should contribute their quota to national building.

The Speaker advised them to shun vices that are inimical to their growth and general well being.

“We will be retaining two of you corps members as casual staff on a salary of N30, 000 per month.

“This is in recognition of your hard work and doggedness during your service period here at the state assembly,” he said.

The speaker thanked the out-gone corps members for impacting positively on the state and wished them success in their future endeavours.
