The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, said it had deployed 400 personnel to provide security during the Easter celebrations in the state.
The command’s Public Relations officer, Mr Ibrahim Idris, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Kano.
Idris said the personnel include intelligence officers who were deployed to some strategic places especially in the state capital to ensure effective surveillance.
Idris said the officers were expected to keep vigil with a view to monitoring the activities of people in such areas.

He said some of the personnel would also be on patrol along the major streets in Kano metropolis and other major towns in the state as part of measures to enhance security.
“We have taken necessary steps to ensure that the Easter period is hitch-free as we have deployed our officers and men to some strategic places especially around Sabon Gari area in Kano metropolis,” he said.
The Spokesman said the NSCDC personnel would work in collaboration with sister security agencies to ensure security of lives and property during the period and beyond.
He called on members of the public to cooperate with the security agencies by providing timely information on any suspected persons.
