Happy Easter

Pastor Afam Okoli of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (), Canaanland Assembly, Masaka, has charged Nigerians to always live by faith to overcome fear.

Okoli made he call at the 2017 Easter Retreat of the RCCG on Sunday in Masaka with the theme “Life Beyond our Fear’’.

He said the challenges facing the country in recent times were enough reasons why Nigerians should hold on to God and ensure they live by faith.

According to him, we need to be strong in the Lord because if God helps us to build the nation it will be impossible for some elements to destroy it.

“The bible has also predicted that in a time like this there is going to be trouble. In latter days like this there will be a lot of problems.

“At the end of time, the heart of so many people will be failing them because of what they see, hear and experience.

“But for those who know their God they shall be strong and do exploit. The knowledge of God’s word should prepare us for the time and season like this.

“But the only thing we have to do is to live a life different from others and continue to trust in the Lord,” he said.

Okoli, however, appealed to Nigerians to trust God as there would be peace and light at the end of the tunnel.

He called on Christians not to allow the problem of the country to weigh them down but arise to the challenge in praying and interceding for the country.

According to him, we cannot allow it to be like that, we must arise, for us Christians we must pray more for Nigeria.

“For those also whom God has given the opportunity to make a difference as leaders we must make that difference because the change we are talking about must start

“ If all of us do that effectively it won’t be long that we will come out of the problems confronting us as a nation,’’ he said.

Also, Pastor Benjamin Zaki of the Word Assembly Area, also in Masaka, admonished Christians to see to it that the season was used to propagate the kingdom of God.

Zaki noted that the Easter season should be a time to win souls into God’s kingdom rather than the usual merry.

“The purpose of this programme as ascribed by the RCCG is a time whereby we win souls, organise crusade which spans from the first day to Monday afterwards we plant a new parish.

“It creates expansion of God’s kingdom here on earth. It is also an outreach where we get the whole world to know the essence of easter, which marks the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ,’’ he said.

He urged Christians to be steadfast in praying for the peace of the country, adding that the pains and agony being experienced as a nation would soon be over.
