Three people have died and 19 others rescued in the collapsed three-storey building at Ilasa area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria on Thursday.

PM News gathered that rescue operation continued on Friday as it is believed that some people might still be trapped under the rubble.

General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Adesina Tiamiyu confirmed that three dead bodies had so far been evacuated from the building.

He said 19 people had so far been rescued by LASEMA and other rescue agencies.

Tiamiyu added that rescue operation continued on Friday morning.

Spokesperson, National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Ibrahim Farinloye said that the rescue operation was almost getting to ground zero.

The building was under construction when it collapsed on Thursday around 2:30pm.
