Scores of teachers and pupils of Ohovbe Primary School in Ikpoba Okha local government area of Edo State escaped death and injuries by the whiskers on Wednesday, following the invasion of the school by rampaging cows.

The rampaging cows were said to have sacked the entire school, as they invaded various classrooms and disrupted academic activities.

It was gathered that the teachers and pupils who had resumed classes in the early hour of the day, scampered for safety, when the cows matched into their classrooms.

The tensed situation forced them to abandon their classes, as they had to jump through the windows for safety.

The development has since been reported to the State Ministry of Education, which immediately moved into action to evacuate the cows from the classrooms to enable normal academic activities to continue.

Commenting on the issue, some parents of pupils of the school who described the situation as embarrassing, called on the State Government to urgently build a perimeter fence in the school to avoid a re-occurrence.

It would be recalled that the Head teacher of the school, Mrs. Mercy Emumen, had earlier lamented the havoc wreaked on the school by those grazing cows and called on the relevant authorities to act fast in order to avoid endangering the lives of the teachers and pupils of the school.
