Publisher of online news portal, SaharaReporters, Sowore Omoyele says the purported protest carried out by PR Consultant and journalist, Lekan Fatodu against him on Friday was sponsored by powerful people who are bent on destroying his medium for exposing their damning acts.
Fatodu had on Friday led anti-fake news and anti-blackmail protesters to the newly opened office of SaharaReporters, in Lagos to protest.
Omoyele told PM News that everyone was entitled to protest, but added that some powerful people had always been against the online news portal, alleging that Fatodu was being sponsored.
“Everyone is entitled to protest, but you all know it that powerful persons constantly being exposed by SaharaReporters are behind him,” he said.
He added that the last time Fatodu physically assaulted him, General Buratai got him a lawyer to fight him, adding that it was the same lawyer he used in the case against Dapo Olorunyomi.
In his words: “The last time he physically assaulted me, General Buratai got him a lawyer, the same lawyer he had used to get Dapo Olorunyomi.”
Omoyele also said SaharaReporters Media Group Incorporate was registered in New York and that it was different from the Civic Media Lab which is based in Lagos.
