Nigeria`s Consul General in South Africa, Mr Godwin Adama, says the mission has a cordial and collaborative relationship with various Nigerian communities, groups and organisations in that country.
Adama told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Johannesburg on Tuesday that on assumption of duty four months ago, the welfare of Nigerians became his priority.
He said the Consulate was in regular contact with the Nigerian communities in the nine Provinces of South Africa.
“All Nigerian organisations, groups and leaders of Nigeria Union (NUSA) came and welcomed me on assumption of duty.
“The mission is pleased to say that we are working cordially and have a collaborative relationship with them. We are in partnership,” he said.

The consul general said the mission had met some Nigerians affected by xenophobic attacks in two communities at Mpumalanga Province.
“Last week, the mission visited some Nigerians affected by the attack in two communities at Mpumalanga Province.
“The mission offered them financial assistance to solve their immediate needs. We also visited and assisted those still in the hospital.
“We took note of those who lost their property and we are processing these hoping that something will happen at the end of the day,” Adama said.
NAN reports that some Nigerians affected by the xenophobic attacks in February said they are yet to be compensated for the losses incurred.
