Afro-House Queen, singer, songwriter and style icon, Ninilola is all shades of gorgeous on the cover of the July edition of Accelerate TV’s ‘The Cover’.
In this edition, Niniola took time to share a few of her musical influences while showing off her spirited aura as she talks music and style as influenced by her idols.
For the shoot, the talented songstress is radiant and carefree in some extraordinary pieces from the stables of Nigerian frontline designer, Lisa Folawiyo.
Niniola is a delight as she poses for the camera and lets us in on her fashion style, music and major influencers.

How have your music icons influenced your style?
Okay, first of all, I have an endless list of influences, both local and international artists and their style of singing, music, genre of music and also their fashion style influence me. Angélique Kidjo is very energetic on stage and so she loves free movement. Beyonce loves to dance as well. I am a dancer, as well as a singer and so I love to move on stage and so I love wearing very comfortable clothes, like shorts or pants. But most of the time shorts, so I can move my legs and body.
How has your style evolved since Project Fame?
Niniola is very Afrocentric and loves Africa and I am loving Africa by the second. My style is moving from being in between to really being that African girl that I am, because my music is very Afrocentric and that is just what I want to depict. So when I am on stage, I am wearing my Ankara fabrics or I’m wearing Aso Oke or lace, or something African. Or my hair, like I’m wearing now. But when I started off, I used to wear my really curly hair, I still love my curly hair but, I’m loving this Afro hair because it is very easy and it’s on-the-go kind of hair.
What are some key memorable pieces you have in your wardrobe?
Memorable pieces that I have would be some Aso Oke pieces; I’m very into Aso Oke pieces, because they just take me back, especially the vintage ones. So this is what I do, I go into my mother’s wardrobe and go and dig out the very old pieces and you know sew them up into something nice.
