SERVICOM National Coordinator Nnenna Akajemeli says it is no longer business as usual in service delivery among ministries departments and agencies with the establishment of Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council.

“Service delivery is now a top priority in government establishment which cannot be compromised in any form with this council,’’ she said in a statement issued in Abuja by Miss Patience Musa, the Public Awareness Manager of SERVICOM.

Musa said Akajemeli spoke at a training organised by SERVICOM Institute in Benin for nodal officers from various ministries departments and agencies on how to improve performance in service delivery.

Akajemeli noted that government business would no longer be treated with levity and there would be proper training and positioning of officers for efficient delivery of services in line with the mandate of their organisations.

She said the government was streamlining all service delivery processes to capture customers’ experiences with the aim of harvesting complaints and turning them around to improve the delivery processes to satisfy service takers.

“For SERVICOM office to serve as a veritable feedback platform, we will rely on reports from the ministerial SERVICOM units; so, this means that we have to go back and reactivate all non-functional units’’, she said.

The coordinator urged participants to consult with stakeholders during policy formulation to know their peculiar needs and prioritise resources towards meeting the needs.

Akajemeli also solicited the establishment of SERVICOM units in all government organisations for efficiency in service delivery across the country.

President Muhammadu Buhari approved the establishment of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council in 2016 to remove the administrative bottleneck associated with doing business in the country.

It is also intended to improve efficiency in business registration, entry process including visa reforms, land reform registration and contract agreements, among others.
