Business owners laud KEDCO over power supply

Business owners in Kano have expressed happiness over the recent improvement of power supply in the state.

Some of them who spoke with news correspondents said that the recent improvement in the power supply had also enhanced their business activities in the state.

Malam Sulaiman Abdu, a seller of perishables said that he used to have a grinding machine which he sold at some point due to inadequate power supply some months ago.

He explained that with the improvement in the electricity supply, he got a loan and purchased another one, adding “I am now doing well in my business.”

Malam Usman Adamu, a welder at Sharada market in the city, said that he had been able to save a lot of money since the power supply improved.

According to him, “I used to spend about N5,000 on diesel to power my machines before now, so I hope the supply will be sustained.”

He attributed the development to the commitment of the present administration toward improving the lives of the citizens.

Some women in purdah also expressed happiness over the development saying they conducted their businesses from their respective houses.

“I sell local drinks at home and I am making a lot of sales these days due to the improvement in power supply, ” one of the women said.

Malama Maryam Abdulhadi said she used to sell local drinks such as tiger nut, Zobo and ginger drinks but she had to stop a year ago due to epileptic power supply.

“So now I return to the business when I realised that power supply has improved.I make a lot of money especially during the day time when the weather is hot.

Maryam, who lauded the Buhari administration for the wonderful development, expressed hope that other sectors would also witness such development.

A cross section of other residents who spoke with news correspondents on improved power supply commended the Distribution Company (KEDCO) for the effort.
