An Italian-based human trafficking suspect, Mrs. Lasiru Dolly Rossato, was Tuesday remanded in prison custody, for alleged involvement in human trafficking.
The suspect was charged (charge No. MOR/512c/2017), with offences in contravention of Section 15(a) & 19(b) of Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Law Enforcement and Administration Act 2003 as amended.
Mrs. Rossato was accused of procuring a 19-year-old victim (name withheld) for prostitution in Italy in August, 2014.
The Chief Magistrate F. E. Akhere, remanded the suspect in prison custody and adjourned the case to 18th September, 2017, for mention.
