An employee at a logistics company in China on Thursday stabbed three of his colleagues to death and injured four others after a disagreement at work, the central city of Wuhan police said.

The 40-year-old man stabbed three people at his office; police in the central city of Wuhan said, then got into a car and drove into a group of pedestrians, injuring four.

He was then shot by police and arrested.

Authorities said he was injured but did not specify his condition.

According to local media, the man was angry about having been fired.

China has tight controls on firearms, so attackers generally use knives or homemade bombs.

Similar attacks have usually been carried out by people who are mentally ill or who are seeking to retaliate against their employers or society.
