The Lagos State Government has charged youths in the country to shun cyber crime and channel their energy into worthwhile ventures.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Steve Ayorinde gave this charge on Sunday at the launch of a book, titled: “It’s your time, make it count,” written by Adeniran Bamisaye.

Ayorinde lamented that many youths while away their time in ventures that were not profitable, saying that as the future belonged to the youths, they must make it count through pragmatic approach.

The commissioner, who was represented by the Director, Press and Public Relations, Oladapo Toro also charged youths to identify with their talents and used them for the benefits of the nation.

“You must take advantage of the opportunity you have now and utilize it. Don’t waste your talents, use them. We have so many challenges confronting the youths, you need to take your rightful position.

“You have great roles to play, shun internet fraud and don’t be carried away by crime in the society,” he admonished.

To the author, Ayorinde said what he had done was to contribute to literature and enhance the knowledge of the readers.

Also speaking, Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf commended the author for a job well done.

Represented by a director in the ministry, Julius Olukosi, the commissioner appealed to the youths to utilize their time and opportunities well so that they could have a better future.

She also charged parents to assist the youths in maximizing their potentials and opportunities in life.

The publisher, Bamisaye said the experience had had while undergoing his first degree programme and others motivated his writing of the book, which he said would definely inspire the readers.
