Super Eagles Assistant Coach and Home-based Eagles handler, Salisu Yusuf, on Wednesday said the team was optimistic of not only beating Republic of Benin on Sunday but qualifying for CHAN 2018.
The 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) will be hosted by Kenya from Jan. 11 to Feb. 2, 2018.
Yusuf made the assertion in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja while reacting to the team’s preparedness for the Sunday’s qualifier in Cotonou.
He said that the team’s expectation was positive and with such state of mind, victory was guaranteed.

“The players are working hard to make sure the team qualifies for CHAN and we are very optimistic of qualifying,’’ Yusuf told NAN.
The coach, who restated the team’s readiness to qualify for the championship, appealed to Nigerians to support them.
NAN reports that the home-based Super Eagles forced Kano Selected side to a 1-1 draw in a friendly match in Kano on Tuesday.
The game was preparatory to their 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) first leg qualifier against Republic of Benin.
