Chevron Nigeria Limited on Wednesday lauded its team for winning multiple awards at this year’s Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition (NAICE) of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) in Lagos.

A statement by Mr Esimaje Brikinn, Chevron General Manager (Policy, Government and Public Affairs), commended the team for emerging the best exhibitor and the best technical paper presented at the event.

He said the company was also honoured with a distinguished corporate support award by the Lagos Section of the SPE.

Brikinn said that a technical paper on “Managing Reservoir and Operational Decline without a Rig: An Okan Case Study”, showed that the company thrived on excellence.

He said the paper, co-authored by Frank Ogbuagu, the company Reservoir Simulation Engineer and Femi Afolayan, Femi Esan and Nsitie Obot, made the company proud.

“We are delighted to receive the awards because SPE and members of the adjudication panel thrive on excellence.

“We thank our SPE members and exhibition team for their excellent work which has brought us honour,” Brikinn said.

He said that the company’s performance and participation were reflections of the company’s commitment to self-development, professional networking and the overall growth of the oil and gas industry.

NAICE is one of the largest annual upstream oil and gas events in Africa.

It attracts industry practitioners at all levels as well as key stakeholders.

It also offers players in the industry the opportunity to learn, debate and challenge ideas to chart the right course towards a sustainable future for the industry.

This year’s event took place in Lagos from July 31 to Aug. 3.
