Gov Yahaya Bello of Kogi on Saturday congratulated Nigerians on President Muhammadu Buhari’s return and expressed the hope that the president would continue with the good work he started.

Bello said after paying homage to the president at the presidential villa that the country had a capable Acting President while the President was away.

Buhari arrived Nigeria from London where he went for medical examination since May 7, the day he received the 82 Chibok Girls released from Boko Haram captivity.

“As the President has returned, even though we had a capable lieutenant who held forth for him, and we thank him. Now that he is back let him continue the good work he has been doing and then deliver on all the campaign promises.

“I am very confident that he is going to do even more than the much he promised,’’ Bello said.

Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano also said at the Villa that he was happy that the President looked healthy and he believed that Nigerians were happy.

“We have to thank God for bringing our President back.

“He looks healthy and I believe Nigerians are very happy; so we will continue to pray for him.

“Now he is back he will continue to deliver the goods of democracy, especially as the Acting President (Yemi Osinbajo) did very well.

“Now they are two, so we believe things will move faster,’’ the governor remarked.

Ganduje said the President’s return was a blessing to him and the country “because when you pray to God to give you something and he has given you that thing you must be very happy and very grateful.

“So we prayed for Allah to bring him good health. He is now healthy and he has come back to continue his job.”

According to the governor, a lot of Nigerians are happy because two heads (President and Vice President) are better than one.

“The Acting President did very well and now Mr President is around so two of them will continue to take decision for the socio-economic development of the country,’’ he added.

Mr Hadi Sirika, Minister of State for Aviation, said it was by God’s glory that the return of the President happened.

“We thank God that he is back and he looks hale and hearty and he has resumed duties immediately.

“We pray that his coming back, as always, will continue to be for the good of all; good of our country and good of humanity.”

Sirika thanked Nigerians for their constant support, and prayers for the president.

Meanwhile, Information Minister Lai Mohammed said the President’s return had proved all doubting Thomases wrong as it had put a seal to the issue of his health.

“Well I think that most Nigerians are very excited and it has put to light the untruths, the falsehoods that the president is on life support and cannot come back.

“Even when we were with him last week Saturday and we were able to bring back his voice and his movement, there were still a few doubting Thomas.

“I think this has put a final seal on the issue of the President’s health and I can only hope and wish him better, with stronger health to continue the job he has started,’’ the minister added.
