Gwagwalada Area Council to begin roads and streets naming

Gwagwalada Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), will soon embark on naming roads and streets in the area for easy description, its chairman, Alhaji Mustapha Adamu-Denze, has said.

Speaking on Tuesday in Gwagwalada, Adamu-Denze explained that apart from easy description, especially for visitors, naming of roads would also serve as a means of generating revenue for the council.

He said that all necessary arrangement to commence the project had been made and would kick-off in a couple of weeks.

The chairman said: “It is one of the ways we will improve our capital base and also enable us to give our people the dividends of democracy.

“In the next couple of weeks, the council will take its decision as to which road and street would be named.

“It is one way of generating revenue and for easy description.’’

Adamu-Denze said the exercise would enable the council boost its internally generated revenue.
