Rivers State Police has arrested the second suspect who allegedly asked a suspected undergraduate ritualist, Ifeanyi Dike, to procure human parts.

The suspect was arrested this morning while manhunt continues for the prime suspect, Dike who escaped from police custody.

The identity of the second suspect is still under wraps.

The Police also announced N1 million bounty on anybody who can provide information that would lead to the arrest of the escapee.

Dike who is an undergraduate of the University of Port Harcourt was arrested and paraded for allegedly raping and killing an eight-year old girl. The suspect was also cut off some of her vital organs for ritual purposes in Eliozu, Obio-Akpor local government area of Rivers State.

The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Zaki Ahmed, made the revelation about the arrest of the second suspect who allegedly asked Ifeanyi Dike to procure human parts for money-making rituals.

The police commissioner who disclosed the arrest on Channels’ Television live programme, Sunrise via telephone, said the second suspect was arrested this morning ,Thursday August 24.

“The man who Ifeanyi mentioned to have asked him to procure human parts for them to make money was arrested this morning. But Ifeanyi is still on the run.

”But we will arrest him soon and we have placed a N1 million prize for anybody who will provide useful information that will lead to his arrest.

“I can assure you that we will arrest Maxwell Ifeanyi Dike in no distant time

He also revealed that Sergeant John Bosco, the Investigating Police Officer, IPO, who allowed the suspect to escape from custody has been tried, found guilty and dismissed for negligence.

“What the IPO did is an individual negligence he shouldn’t have removed the handcuff.”

On the allegation that Maxwell Ifeanyi Dike was once arrested for alleged bank robbery by Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, CP Zaki Ahmed said he was not aware of such information and as far as he was aware, this is the first time he has gotten in contact with the Police.

Meanwhile, more groups have joined in the condemnation of the Police in the handling of the suspected ritual killer as the youths of Obio-Akpor in a peaceful protest, issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Police to re-arrest the suspected ritualist.

President of Obio-Akpor Youth Council and first Vice-President of National Youth Council Nigeria, Rivers State Chapter, Jude Chijioke Izunwo said youths will carry out more protests until the suspected ritualist is re-arrested.
