Pilgrims converge on Mount Arafat

The Katsina State Pilgrims Welfare Board on Tuesday began moving its pilgrims to Muna for the commencement of the final Hajj rites.

Pilgrims across the world are expected to move to Muna, where they will stay till Thursday before moving to the plains of Arafat for the final rights.

Alhaji Badaru Bello, Public Relations Officer of the board, said on Tuesday in Makkah that the arrangements had been perfected.

He said 4,930 pilgrims from the state would be grouped according to their local government areas in their tents.

Bello said the pilgrims would also be served with food, while medical personnel would be there to take care of those with medical problems.

He urged the pilgrims to concentrate on remembrance of Allah while in Muna and avoid unnecessary roaming about in the area.

He also urged them to continue to pray for peace and stability of the country.

More than 75,000 Nigerian pilgrims are also expected to arrive Muna between today and Wednesday in preparedness of the Arafat on Thursday.
