The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the Nigerian Law School in Bwari, FCT, on Tuesday, mourned the late Serikin of Bwari, Alhaji Musa Ijakoro.

The Head JAMB Information and Media, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, and Mr. Chinedu Ukekwe, Head of Information and Protocol of the Nigerian Law School, in separate interviews expressed their condolences to the people of Bwari.

Both spokespersons of the institutions extolled the late Ijakoro as a nice traditional ruler whose legacy would forever be remembered.

They said the late monarch was known for promoting peace and unity in the community.

Benjamin said one of the greatest legacies he would be remembered for was the unity of all the tribes that he left behind.

He urged residents of the community to maintain the unity and sustain the good legacies of the monarch.

According to him, the entire management and staff of JAMB will miss him for his contributions to our policies and programmes.

Benjamin said, “he was a man who had great love for his people and even agencies and staff of organizations that are located in the community.

“He catered for the welfare of his people; he went to every extent to ensure that the interest of the people of Bwari is protected.

“He supported all our policies right from the commencement of Computer Based Test CBT to even the CAPS that we are introducing now for the 2017 admission.

“He always called to find out how we were doing and then ask if there was anything he could also help to do, by way of support to talk to his subjects in ensuring meaningful growth.

“The whole of Bwari will miss him; we in JAMB will miss him greatly because he has been a pillar of support of anything that we have been doing. ”

On his part, Chinedu described the late traditional ruler as an epitome of kindness who is worthy of emulation.

According to him, he was a great man and a detribalized Nigerian.

“He was kind hearted and associated with everyone in the community, irrespective differences in ethnic or religious background.

“He was a religious man; there are so many good things to say about the late monarch, we will miss him dearly.

“We pray that the people in the community will learn and sustain the tempo that he has left, particularly in the pursuit of peace.

“He was indeed a peace loving person and at this time that he has gone, it is necessary to continue his good works to promote the peace we are enjoying in the area.

“The Law school as a community will miss him and we pray God to grant his soul eternal rest,” Chinedu said.

Ijakoro died at early hours of Tuesday at the age of 81 years and was laid to rest at the palace at 3 p.m in accordance with Muslim rites.

The late Ijakoro, who was born on April 23, 1936, had stayed on the throne as Serikin of Bwari for 43 years.
