A Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday fixed Nov. 28 for the arraignment of a company– Elephant Group Ltd and its Managing Director, Tunji Owoeye — over the alleged unlawful importation of Urea fertilizer component.

The component is used for the manufacture of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED).

The case which was earlier scheduled for arraignment on Monday was adjourned until Nov. 28 as the judge, Justice Mojisola Olatoregun could not sit.

No reason was given.

The suit was filed on behalf of Attorney General of the Federation by Mr Aminu Alilu of the Department of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

The accused were said to have committed the offence on Aug. 29 in Lagos by importing about 13,199.5 metric tonnes of Urea fertilizer, a component for making Improvised Explosive Devices.

The offence contravened Section 47 (1), (c)of the Customs and Excise Management Act, Laws of the Federation 2004.
