UNIBEN professor shot dead

A senior lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, University of Benin in Edo State, Prof. Paul Otasowie, has been shot dead.

He was killed by gunmen in front of his home at Ekehuan road in Oredo Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday.

While some said he was shot by cultists who traced himto his house, others said he was killed by armed robbers.

The killing has been reported to the police, according to the University’s Public Relations Officer, Michael Osasuyi.

The school is yet to issue a statement on the professor’s death as at the time of filing this report.
