Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni

President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda says education remains key to  Africa’s development.

The president stated this while addressing the 4th edition of the annual Global Forum on Africa held in Dubai.

Museveni urged all the countries in Africa to create a “market space” which would motivate young African people to build the continent.

“Education is key. But we do have a conflict as ‘identity versus interest’,” he said.

He called on Africans to overcome tribal conflicts and sectarian thinking to create a “next generation Africa” and to spur economic integration in order to compete with global “giants” like the U.S.

“Africa should compete with the giants. Uganda can’t do so alone,” Museveni said, urging African nations to continue to remove barriers of trade within the continent.
