Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has been commended for opening up the state by providing infrastructure in all the nooks and crannies of the state.
Making this commendation in Lagos, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Odi-Olowo local council development area, Mr Muri Ogunjimi, said the Lagos governor has performed well above his predecessors by opening up the rural areas of Lagos.
Ogunjimi who is of the Lagos Agenda Forum told PMNEWS in an interview that Lagosians are happy with the performance of Ambode in the past two years.
He specifically identified the construction and rehabilitation of roads in all the local communities as one of Ambode’s greatest achievements so far.
”If you take stock of all the activities of Ambode so far, you will agree with me that he has to a large extent opened up the local communities in Lagos by rehabilitating existing poor roads and constructing new ones. The others before him concentrated on the urban and city roads, leaving the local communities to suffer.
”But since Ambode came in, the situation has changed with the easy accessibility of local communities as a result of road construction and rehabilitation.
”Ambode should continue his good works and remember those of us in the defunct Ambode Campaign Organisation (AMCO) who mobilised at the grassroots to ensure his victory. Though he has rehabilitated over 70 percent of members, he should remember the chairmen and secretaries of AMCO in Ojokoro LCDA, Odi-Olowo LCDA and others who are still suffering,” he stated.
