President of Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF), Daniel Igali, on Friday assured that the forthcoming Gov. Wike National Wrestling Challenge would be a well-organised event.
Igali told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that from every indication, the tournament would be one of the best-funded tournaments in the history of wrestling in Nigeria.
“The Gov. Wike National Championships will proceed as planned. The arrival of participants will be from Thursday.
“The competition proper will commence on Nov. 25 and end on Nov. 30,” he said.

Igali added that the Local Organising Committee of the Gov. Wike National Championships and the 2018 African Championships to be hosted by Nigeria has briefed the Minister of Youths and Sports.
“The minister has been briefed on our preparedness for the two competitions. He expressed his appreciation to the governor of Rivers state.
“He expressed the full backing of the Ministry and the Federal Government for Rivers in hosting the 2018 African Wrestling Championships,’’ the Olympian said.
