Lagos begins Network Of Water Supply To Ogudu Ori-Oke, Alapere

The Lagos State Government, through the Lagos Water Corporation (LWC), has begun the network extension of potable water supply to Ogudu and Alapere area of the State.

LWC Managing Director, Engr. Muminu Badmus, who made this known at a stakeholders’ meeting on Thursday, said the project was in line with the present administration’s policy of ensuring that every Lagos resident had access to potable water.

Badmus named the contractor and co-partner handling the project as Salini Nigeria Ltd., the company, which he said, was also handling the 70MGD Adiyan II project.

He urged the residents to cooperate with the contractor to ensure the success of the Network Extension of Water Distribution project as well as protect it after completion in order to attract other laudable projects to the community.

Also speaking, the LWC Executive Director, Operations, Engr. Suraj Ijaiya, explained that from Ogudu roundabout there is an existing two diameter pipe from which water supply from Adiyan would be connected, stressing that on completion of the project a bigger pipe will be connected to the two diameter pipe, to cover 26 Street and 700 households in the first phase of the project.

The Head, Sales and Commercial, Mr. Micheal Ajose stated that the installation of prepaid metres will go hand in hand with the new connection/project to control water wastages and encourage water conservation.

While also seeking the support and cooperation of the residents for the project, the Managing Director of the Company, Mr. Paolo Capelala promised to deliver a quality job as well as ensure that the project is completed on schedule.
