Nigeria’s former President in the Second Republic, Alhaji Shehu Shagari has described the death of his former Vice President, Alex Ekwueme as a huge loss to the nation.
Ekwueme died in a London hospital on Sunday after series of illness.
Condoling with Ekwueme’s family, Shagari, in a statement on Monday, said Ekwueme had contributed immensely to national development, saying that he received the news of his death with deep sense of loss.
He commiserated with Ekwueme’s family and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
