Governors meet over controversial $1billion fund to fight Boko Haram

An emergency meeting of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) is currently holding in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

Sources revealed that the meeting which is holding inside the Presidential Villa was called to discuss the controversial $1 billion fund approved by the forum from the excess crude account for the presidency to fight Boko Haram in the northeast.

Some members like Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State had distanced himself from the approval saying he was not among the governors that gave their nods for the Federal Government to withdraw the money from the excess crude account.

He said apart from the northeast which is ravaged by the Boko Haram insurgency, other states also deserve attention of the federal government.
