Chairman of Agbado Oke-Odo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State, Dr Augustine Arogundade has endorsed the State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode to continue in office beyond 2019, saying most rural communities have been transformed in the last 30 months in the State.
Speaking at the 2017 Annual General Meeting and Community Day Celebration of Prime Gardens Estate Community Development Association (CDA) in Agbado Oko-Odo LCDA, Arogundade said the governor deserved to be supported with re-election for massively developing all parts of the State and paying special attention to the development of the rural areas.
According to him, “We are happy to have a very dynamic and action-parked Governor in the State, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode. He will be coming back once more because we can all see the way he has transformed all our communities.
“Attention has been at the rural areas as against what we had before and that is why we are praying fervently for him to come back so that he can continue to open up for us most of the rural communities.
“The Local Government of Agbado Oke-Odo has been following the trend and the speed of our Governor and at our level, we are also following in his footsteps by implementing various infrastructural projects.”
The Council boss also commended the leadership and members of Prime Gardens Estate CDA for their various self-help projects, saying it was gratifying that they were doing excellently well in coming up with projects to make life comfortable for residents, just as he urged them to continue the good works.
He said: “I am more impressed when I saw that Prime Gardens Estate CDA is not one of those CDAs that are there just to share money. There are some CDAs that their main aim is to intentionally remove one or two things from their transformers and then start going about generating money for themselves from residents.
“In the case of this CDA, they have done very well by implementing various projects and I am sure that If you can continue with the good work you are doing, you will soon emerge as the best CDA in the State.”
Chairman of Prime Gardens Estate CDA, Ishola Ogunshola commended Ambode for the various projects executed so far in Aboru such as the network of roads and the Aboru-Abesan link bridge, among others, assuring that the Governor would be supported for re-election to continue the good work in the State.
While alluding to some of the self-help projects executed by the CDA, Ogunshola said the street light project erected on First Avenue in the Estate by the CDA was in line with the Light Up Lagos Project of the State Government aimed at improving on the aesthetics of the community and enhancing security, as well as improve night life.
