The South African U-20 women football team arrived Benin on Thursday afternoon for their Saturday U-20 World Cup qualifier with the Falconets, their Nigerian counterparts.
The 35-member team was received at the Benin Airport by the Secretary of the Edo FA, Emmanuel Ajibola.
Ajibola told newsmen that everything that would make the team’s stay in Benin comfortable had been put in place by the authorities.
He said preparations for the match which would be played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Saturday were in top gear.
The Edo FA scribe, however, urged the Falconets’ supporters to come out en masse to cheer the team to a resounding victory.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian team intensified its preparations for the last phase of the qualifier in Benin at the Samuel Ogbemudia on Thursday.
The team’s coach, Christopher Danjuma, who conducted the training, said the match would be approached in a business-like manner, in spite of their 2-0 victory in the first leg.
A draw on Saturday, the Falconets have already qualified for the France 2018 U-20 World Cup finals.
It would be recalled that the Falconets who have made Benin their home, had defeated their Tanzanian and Moroccan counterparts in earlier qualifiers.
