Ambode's aide charges CDAs to partner with govt on community projects

Newly sworn in Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Communities and Communications, Mr Akeem Sulaimon has charged Community Development Associations, CDAs in the state to partner with government in a bid to deliver more dividends of democracy to the grassroots dwellers.

Sulaimon, who spoke on Monday in Alausa, Ikeja area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria while addressing workers of the Ministry of Local Government and Communities Affairs said CDAs were key in developing the grassroots.

“Community Development Associations (CDAs), community leaders and members of the community media practitioners should team up with us to ensure continuity of projecting the programmes and activities of various communities across the State,” he said.

The special adviser added that being a grassroot politician, he was ready to mobilise people at the grassroots so as to deliver on his mandate to project government‘s developmental projects and plans.

Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Muslim Folami stated that the appointment of Sulaimon would promote the development of communities and the inclusive governance policy thrust of the present administration.
