Ronaldo scores 300 La Liga goals in Madrid’s 3-1 win over Getafe

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 300th La Liga goal as Real Madrid warmed up for Tuesday’s last-16 Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain by beating ten-man Getafe 3-1 at the Bernabeu.

Ronaldo struck on the stroke of half-time, following up Gareth Bale’s 24th-minute strike, to help the champions brush aside mid-table Getafe as Real made light work of the visitors, Sky Sports reports.

Loic Remy saw red for a second booking when he left an arm in the face of Nacho just after half-time, but Real barely had to get out of first gear ahead of their trip to Paris, despite Francisco Portillo’s second-half penalty for the visitors.

Ronaldo added a late third as the champions cut the gap on La Liga leaders Barcelona to 12 points, while Getafe remain lodged in tenth.
