A Female undergraduate in a University, Imo State, Southeast Nigeria, Geo Nina, 25, has been arrested and arraigned before a Lagos Magistrate Court for allegedly stealing bismid pink Lips stick valued at N2,000 and Nose rings valued at N500 at Prince Ebeano Supermarket located at Lekki phase I, Lekki, Lagos.
The accused was arrested by the Police at the Mobolaji Johnson Police Post, Lekki, Lagos and charged before an Igbosere Magistrate Court on a one count charge of felony to wit, stealing.
Police Counsel, O.Balogun informed the court that the accused committed the offence on 1 March, 2018 at Prince Ebeano Supermarket, Lekki Lagos.
Balogun told the court that the accused entered the Ebeano Supermarket to buy items and that in the process she stole one bismisd lips stick and nose rings and hide them inside her hand bag.
He said that luck, however, ran against the accused while she was leaving the supermarket through the exit gate when the security men stopped her for a search and found the stolen items hidden inside her bag and invited the police to arrest her
Balogun said the offence the accused committed was punishable under section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the alleged crime and Magistrate L.A LayeLayeni granted her bail in the sum of N20,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till 13 March, 2018 for mention.
