Lagos Water Corporation on Wednesday took to Lagos streets to celebrate the 2018 World Water Day.
The theme for this year World Water Day is: “Nature for Water”.
The Corporation’s staff went out in a large number to Lagos Streets to sensitize the public about on water conservation and judicious use of water which is limited in quantity and also to educate Lagosians how to connect to public water within three days.
Fliers were distributed to the pubic on water tips and procedure for water connection as souvenir to take home.
The movement covered eight LWC Operational regions and Headquarters, Ijora, Lagos.
The team train took off from Ijora-Olopa and toured Oyingbo, Sabo, Ikorodu road, (Palmgrove), Ojota/Ogudu, Gbagada, Bariga, among other areas.
While briefing the media and staff before the take-off, the LWC Chief Operating Officer, Engr. Deji Johnson, who represented the Ma Director, Engr. Muminu Badmus enjoined the participants to be worthy ambassador of the corporation and be polite while attending to customers.
He said the outing was in line with the activities line up for the 3-day 2018 Word Water Day celebration, adding that the importance of provision of water supply in the State could not be underestimated.
Johnson said: “we need to sensitize the public to conserve water which is limited in supply, so that other people can enjoy the service.
“The State Governor, Mr. Akimwunmi Ambode has invested so much in water provision so that every household in the State can enjoy effective service, so we need to conserve and make judicious use of it.”
