A Kubwa Grade 1 Area Court on Thursday in Abuja ordered the remand of a 30-year-old man, Ahmed Isha, in police custody for alleged threat to life and theft.

Isha, residing at Chikakure Village, near Byazhin in Kubwa, however, pleaded not guilty to a three-count charge of joint act, theft and criminal intimidation.

The Judge, Malam Mohammed Marafa, adjourned the matter until March 23 for ruling on the defendant’s bail.

The Prosecutor, Babajide Olanipekun, had told court that one Hilary Ogbologha of Kubwa reported the matter at the Kubwa Police Station.

He said that the defendant and others now at large, jointly stole 29 bags of cement, valued at N78, 300 and two pumping machines, valued at N60, 000‎.

Olanipekun said the defendant traced the complainant to his business premises and threatened to kill him, thereby putting him into fear of death or injury.

He said that the offences contravened Sections 79, 288 and 397 of the Penal Code.
